Senior Claims Analyst – Construction Defect

Fleming is based in Bermuda but conducts business globally.  Fleming is looking to hire a Sr. Claims Analyst with construction defect subject matter expertise.  The primary focus of the position will be to evaluate reinsurance claims for moderate to high complexity construction defect claims. The individual will also have increased responsibilities for decision making within their authority and work with minimal oversight.  The position will be remote (within the US or Bermuda), with some travel required on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Evaluate information on coverage, liability and damages to determine the extent of the insured’s exposure(s).
• Conduct and work with team members to complete Claim Management Reviews (CMRs) on all reported open claims across our existing reinsurance accounts.
• Oversee claims handling accuracy in regard to coverage, liability, damage assessments, settlement negotiations (mediations/arbitrations), and litigation.
• Collaborate with claim stakeholders to provide value added technical support and to serve as a key resource across all managed accounts.
• Adopt and utilize AI to help identify potential high exposure claims, coverage issues, fraud and opportunities for expense mitigation.

The successful candidates will meet the following requirements:

• At least 10 years of General Liability experience with a strong background in Construction Defect claims.
• Exceptional skillsets in regard to proactive litigation management, coverage analysis & expense management.
• A demonstrated high energy approach to working with team members to achieve improved outcomes.
• A willingness to attend conferences, client meetings, and assist management as needed.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to influence claims stakeholders and effectively direct claims strategy.

Certification:

• Must have or be eligible to obtain claims adjuster licenses.
• Participation in industry training opportunities (CLM Claim College, AIRROC, etc.).

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• JD, advanced degree, or focused technical degree a plus.
