Position Summary:

The Patient Care Technician’s role in the ICU Department is a dual one.  The Patient Care Technician functions as both a clerical employee and as a patient care provider under the supervision of the RN staff.  The Patient Care Technician’s patient care role is task orientated.

Qualifications:

Preferred Medical terminology and knowledge of computer monitoring and previous hospital experience preferred.  Must have taken a basic Arrhythmia course and passed if assigned to the monitor.  Prefer 1-2 years proven health care work experience.  Work experience requiring positive interaction with patients, families and public.  Unit Secretary/Ward Clerk or Nursing Assistant training or experience preferred. Excellent customer service and communication skills.  Prefer Basic Arrhythmia Course per hospital requirements

Requires Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
