Job Overview
The role of an Interior Designer is a full-time position in the company and will involve collaborating with the Interior Design Project Lead to bring projects from concept to construction, and styling and décor. As a full-service architecture, interior design, and construction studio, we are looking to bring on a professional who is a self-starter and organized to carry out the duties below. This position will offer the opportunity to collaborate with our internal design team and to work with some of the most successful and affluent homeowners and business people across Canada.
Qualifications
- Degree in Interior Design
- 2-3 years of experience in interior design and the production of interior design drawings
- Experience in luxury houses and multi-unit mid-rise / high-rise residential preferred. Experience in other building types and interiors is an asset.
- Exceptional skills in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office applications. Experience in Enscape, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Rhino is an asset.
- Skilled in developing hand drawings and sketches of design ideas
- Fluent in current design trends, products, and resources
- Well-organized problem solver with a discerning eye for design
- Passionate self-educator committed to continuous professional growth
- Personable with good verbal communication skills
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Sketch and develop design concepts and strategies
- Set up and maintain client files and Revit models
- Prepare design and tender and permit drawings, specifications, and material schedules
- Develop AI designs
- Conduct product sourcing
- Furniture and millwork designs
- Produce illustrations and renderings for client presentations
- Prepare sample and mood boards
- Create design presentations
- Assist in the preparation of FF&E budgets and schedules
- Assist in coordinating procurement activities, including inspections, installations, and styling of items
- Review shop drawings for accuracy and design integrity
- Liaise with consultants, suppliers, and trades
- Assist with construction administration activities, field reviews, and site instructions
- Meeting minutes
- Assist the Director of Operations in creating social media strategies
- Curate the social media calendar and Instagram grid
- Assist in capturing behind-the-scenes moments for social media content
- Schedule and manage social media posts
- Serve as an advocate for Human Architecture and embody the Audax mission statement in all facets of work
