Role Overview
AGA is seeking a full-time Analyst-Intern to join our dynamic team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. You will play a crucial role in supporting our team in policy research and analysis, information gathering, advocacy, and business development initiatives. As an Analyst-Intern you will have be exposed to public affairs consultancy work across various business sectors, and gain hands-on experience in working on a client-project.
We seek a dynamic and intellectually curious individual with a passion in learning more about Malaysia’s public policy, politics, and economic developments. Experience in government relations or public affairs is a plus, but not mandatory.
Candidates should be eager to expand their knowledge and skills through continuous learning, while demonstrating a willingness to collaborate and cooperate effectively with colleagues. Successful candidates will have excellent English writing skills.
Responsibilities include
- Support client service teams in Malaysia with media monitoring, issue analysis document preparation, and update notes on relevant events and policy developments
- Seek out and attend seminars, webinars and other events of relevance to our clients, and share synthesized summary notes internally to AGA colleagues
- Conduct research and develop fact packs on high-priority policy and regulatory issues facing international companies operating across Southeast Asia
- Conduct research and write internal briefs on specific Malaysian regulations, legislations, and policies, as well as geopolitical movements and developments that could impact the Southeast Asian region
- Work on special projects as needed and assigned

Essential qualifications
- Demonstrated aptitude for research and English written analysis
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in both remote and in-person settings
- Degree in political science, international affairs, economics, journalism, public policy, or strategic communications
- Enthusiasm for engaging with government officials, business executives, and civil society
- Willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to cross-cultural environments
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
