JOB SUMMARY:
Provides direct mental health services, including diagnosis, evaluations, treatment, and consultation as appropriate. Provides behavioral health services in conjunction with multi disciplinary team- therapist, psychologist and or psychiatrist.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analytical and Critical Thinking
- Provides comprehensive assessment of patients and as appropriate their families
- Completes the history of the present illness and review past histories.
- Provides individual, group, family and pharmacologic therapeutic interventions that are evidence based.
Problem Solving and Decision Making
- Provides crisis intervention and referral for psychiatric hospitalization.
- Makes referrals for further diagnostic psychological or medical testing as needed.
Communication
- Interview patients to obtain insight into their problems
Compliance, Policy, and Procedure
- Provides appropriate patient assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in accordance with acceptable Standards of Care and Regulatory Requirements.
- Adhere to productivity standards and departmental policies and procedures
Teamwork
- Collaborate with primary therapist on treatment plan development.
- Works in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Prescribes psychiatric medication when needed
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to give accurate DSM diagnosis, to use a variety of treatment and pharmacological techniques with a range of diagnoses.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Education: Master of Nursing degree and current
Licensure: Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Maryland
2 years of experience in a psychiatric setting
Experience with telemedicine preferred.
Other Skills: Basic computer knowledge required

- Contract pay of $80-85 hourly
