Job Summary: The Lead Supervisor coordinates with and assists the Program Manager/Case Manager with the daily program operations. Provides direction and acts as a resource for staff. Develops community integrated opportunities for participants outside the facility.
Essential Job Duties
Specific duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following.
- Locates and develops community integrated opportunities and activities for participants in collaboration with program manager.
- Conduct site visits on a monthly basis.
- Develops and maintains working relationships with community organizations for the purpose of opportunities. Be the point of contact for these organizations. Ensures the participant’s needs are being met while in the community.
- Works to ensure that community integration goals are identified and achieved for participants.
- Oversees the scheduling of and calendar for community outings taking into account appropriate group sizes, ratios, and vehicles. Plans and arranges for coverage as needed. Communicates program needs to the program manager; needs which are required for program success, such as additional vehicles. Assist Facility Manager with fleet.
- Works with participants through a person-centered approach in planning their program day. Assists program manager in developing in-house curriculum.
- Assists with monthly attendance reporting.
- Attend trainings and meetings as required.
- Timely and accurate completion of all required paperwork.
- Mandating reporting requirements for dependent and elder abuse, as required by WIC Section 15630(b).
- Checks in with community groups as needed.
- Ensure that program building is open at the start of business and secured at close of business.
- Punctual and regular attendance.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Program Manager.
- Assist with monthly safety.
Minimum Qualifications/Characteristics
- Must be able to communicate effectively through verbal and written forms, in person and over the phone, with a variety of people.
- Must be able to work well independently and as a team.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of email use, computers, and recordkeeping.
- Demonstrate leadership skills.
- Must be able to read and write English and communicate at a level required for successful job performance.
- Must maintain valid CA Driver’s License, clean driving record and proof of auto insurance.
- Background fingerprint clearance is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
- First Aid and CPR certified within 30 days of employment and maintained throughout employment (HR will coordinate)
- Ability to multi-task, show organizational skills, and manage multiple priorities.
- Must be able to problem solve and make decisions independently when appropriate.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Maintain professionalism and courtesy when interacting with care providers, family members, regional center, other businesses, staff, licensing representatives, participants, and managers.
Education/Experience
- Must be high school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of full–time employment working with persons with developmental disabilities.
