Overview of role:
Join Blooming Tree Primary School as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice and receive comprehensive training to support children with Autism. You will help them acquire essential skills and maximize their independence in areas such as communication, academics, socialization, and daily living skills. This role offers an excellent entry point into Early Years Special Education.
Key details:
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm (37.5 hours per week)
- Term-time only (39 weeks per year)
- Wage: £6.40 per hour
- Location: Swan House, 296 High Street, Acton, London, W3 9BJ
Apprenticeship details:
- Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
- Duration of course: 16 months
- Training Provider: LMP Education (Rated No 1 Training Provider in the UK🎉!)
- All learning delivered online/ remotely alongside role.
Full Duties and Responsibilities:
As an apprentice, you’ll gain practical experience working alongside experienced staff in a high-energy educational environment for children aged 3-11 with Autism. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Supporting classroom activities and interventions based on evidence-based practices.
- Establishing supportive relationships with children, serving as a role model.
- Adapting learning resources and strategies to ensure access to the full curriculum.
- Motivating and challenging pupils, promoting self-esteem.
- Attending to personal, social, health, and hygiene needs of pupils.
- Collaborating with parents and teachers to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Recording and monitoring pupils’ progress and providing feedback.
- Please note some children will need intimate support/care so you will need to assist with nappy changes.

Qualifications Requirements:
- GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) English (Grade 4) essential
