Assistant Project Manager – Civil Engineering

We’re seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our Engineering team in Colfax, NC. Job Summary: As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be essential in ensuring the accurate and efficient delivery of client projects. You will use AutoCAD Civil3D to design various aspects of land development, assist with processing plans through governmental agencies, and support project managers in achieving successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Quality and Efficiency: Ensure that all project designs meet company standards and are completed efficiently.
- Client and Agency Relations: Foster strong relationships with clients and regulatory agencies to facilitate project approvals.
- Technical Design: Utilize AutoCAD Civil3D to design land development site work, including subdivisions, streets, utility systems, grading plans, and stormwater management.
- Survey Application: Develop a working knowledge of land surveying and apply this data effectively to your projects.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers to produce accurate and timely plans, promoting teamwork and efficient facility use.
- Documentation and Permitting: Prepare reports, specifications, and construction documents, and coordinate with outside agencies to obtain necessary permits.
- Problem Solving: Define problems, collect relevant data, and draw valid conclusions to keep projects on track.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant land development experience.
- Licenses: North Carolina EI registration preferred.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Ajera financial management software is preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to remain stationary for long periods, observe details closely, and communicate effectively.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with working hours from Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM, and Friday, 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM.
