Assistant Property Manager

Universe Living is a leading residential property management company currently managing over 3,000 units in southern California, New Jersey and Florida. We are seeking an engaging, energetic Assistant Property Manager that will be responsible for general leasing and supporting the Property Manager in all aspects of operations.

Responsibilities

• Show and lease available apartments.
• Answer the telephone and practice professional leasing techniques.
• Implement and manage marketing initiatives.
• Have a good understanding of the market area where community is located and stay up to date on market conditions.
• Keep accurate records of resident and property activities.
• Process applicants paperwork including applications, proof of income, credit and background check, following company policies and procedures
• Conduct move-in for new residents
• Complete maintenance requests for residents and for common areas
• Oversee maintenance tech to ensure maintenance requests are completed on time and correctly
• Collect and record rents and deposits.
• Review all invoices to ensure that all items billed have been received and match the agreed contract price.
• Comply with Fair Housing Laws.
• Perform any and all functions as requested by the Area Manager in addition to those outlined.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid driver’s license and an insured, operable vehicle.
• 3+ years experience in property management
• Marketing savvy and proficient in MS Word, Excel and Yardi software.
