The Role
This is a permanent Full-Time position which requires you to set an example in the kitchen with your exemplary cooking skills, and maintaining the highest of standards.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Completing ordering and stocktaking to plan and manage food costs
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staff
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Preparing and cooking food to a consistently high standard
- Understanding the food control plan and understanding the cleaning standards and processes within the kitchen
- Ensure all food is prepped and portion controlled prior to service to ensure no food prep is required to be completed during service
- Ensuring clear communication between the kitchen, front of house and head office
We are anticipating the role’s hours to be at least 30 hours per week with a maximum of 60 hours per week.
Skills / Experience
We are looking for an energetic, flexible and hard working candidate.
The ideal candidate will be someone with:
- A passion for food and providing experiences
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong leadership and culinary skills
- Energy and enthusiasm to share with your team
- Proven experience in a fast paced high end kitchen environment
- NZ Register Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2); or at least three years of relevant experience
