Biblical Research and product development – System Specialist

Job Summary:

The Research & Development – Systems Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the backend systems that support Troy Brewer Ministries and the OpenDoor Family of Ministries. This includes platforms such as MailChimp, Active Campaign, BigCommerce, Microsoft 365, WordPress, and other related systems. The role emphasizes maintaining and improving these platforms to ensure operational efficiency. Occasionally, the Systems Specialist will assist with research, writing, and product development tasks, providing secondary support for content creation and product development. The candidate must have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and align with the mission and values of Troy Brewer Ministries.

Key Responsibilities (Primary):

• System Management & Maintenance:
  • Manage backend systems, including MailChimp, Active Campaign, BigCommerce, Microsoft 365, WordPress, and other operational tools.
  • Regularly monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues to maintain optimal performance of all platforms.
  • Identify and implement improvements to systems and processes, enhancing efficiency and streamlining workflows.
  • Ensure all systems are up to date and integrated effectively to support the ministry’s ongoing projects and goals.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.
• Process Research & Optimization:
  • Research and recommend new systems, tools, and processes that improve operational efficiency and support long-term growth.
  • Evaluate current systems and develop strategies to automate tasks where applicable.
  • Analyze performance data from systems to recommend and implement optimization solutions.
  • Stay current on technological trends and system updates to ensure the organization’s tools remain cutting-edge.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, ensuring all processes are recorded and easily accessible.
  • Develop user guides and resources for internal teams to ensure optimal usage of all platforms.

Key Responsibilities (Secondary):

• Content & Product Support:
  • Provide support as needed to the research and development team by assisting with product research, market analysis, and content creation.
  • Collaborate on product development projects as needed, offering system support and research where applicable.
  • Assist in creating written content such as event descriptions, product copy, study guides, and devotional materials on an as-needed basis.
• Research for Sermon & Interview Preparation:
  • Support the research and development team with background research on topics for sermons, interviews, or new content.
  • Assist in gathering information on prophetic themes such as the significance of numbers and how the heavens declare the glory of God.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Strong technical expertise in backend systems such as MailChimp, Active Campaign, BigCommerce, Microsoft 365, and WordPress required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Theology, or a related field a plus.
• Experience in system troubleshooting, optimization, and automation.
• Ability to research and implement new technological solutions to improve operational workflows.
• Basic familiarity with content writing and research is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with an analytical mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and creative teams.
