POSITION: Cafeteria Support Substitute

AVAILABLE: Immediately Hiring
REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Manager
SALARY: $15/Hour

​This is an hourly, part-time substitute position at GLOW Academy. The available hours could be between 7:00am – 2:30pm with an unpaid 30 minute break to help prepare for and serve breakfast and lunch and clean up after lunch service.

Our cafeteria serves breakfast and lunch for roughly 175 students a day.

Breakfast is served from 7:45am – 8:15am.

Lunch is served from 11:15am – 1:00pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrate functional knowledge of basic principles of food cookery
• Demonstrate functional knowledge of food service equipment
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to understand USDA food patterns
• Ability to be mentally alert and apply knowledge applicable to the job
• Ability to follow written recipes and instructions and complete production records
• Ability to operate dishwasher, food grinder, mixer, meat slicer, range, ovens,
  refrigerator and freezer
• Ability to operate computer, calculator, correctly and accurately as well as make
  change rapidly
• Manual skills for cleaning and sanitizing food preparation equipment
• Mechanical skills to safely operate kitchen equipment
• Communication skills to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents
• Physical ability (able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally) and dexterity to
  perform the duties and responsibilities of the job
• Valid Serve Safe Certificate a plus
• Food Service experience a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Possession of a valid TB test and health examination issued by the local county board of health or recognized medical authority
• Knowledge of food safety and preparation preferred
