Following the second round of equity funding the company is looking for an experienced and ambitious credit risk analyst to help us make credit decisions. 

TERMS OF REFERENCE

WHAT YOU WOULD DO

You will work with the product development team to develop a digital solution that will transform the work of credit officers and credit risk analysts.  With your experience, you will provide the knowledge needed to conceptualize, develop and test and rollout a data-driven credit risk assessment solution. Concretely, your responsibilities will include: 

Development of a data-driven credit risk report

• Document the credit risk process for a bank, MFI, and other mainstream lending institutions.
• Develop a proposal of how this process can be simplified, enhanced, and TAT reduced using data.
• In the proposal, you will identify the critical data points that can support this process to be more efficient.
• In the process, you will outline how this data can be used to in facilitate credit decisions
• Develop a draft report template that harnesses the different data points to portray information used in credit decision. You will develop different samples for different types of credit institutions.
• Interview end users (i.e., credit analysts, credit officers) to ensure the reports provide the anticipated value.
• Refine the reports based on user feedback.
• Together with the product and marketing team propose a go-to-market strategy for the solution.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an experienced credit risk analyst to work on a 2-month consulting assignment, someone with creative ideas on how best to use data to significantly improve or disrupt the credit decision process so that our customers reduce turnaround (TAT) time on credit decision while ensuring they are providing to credit-to-credit worthy borrowers. In a perfect world, you bring the following:

• Minimum 4+ years working as a credit risk analyst in a bank. Experience working in an MFI will bring added value.
• Expertise in the credit decision process in banks, MFIs of all sizes
• An expert in the credit processes in financial decisions of different sizes and how to improve those processes using data.
• Innovative – Able to identify challenges in existing processes in the credit decision process and come up with innovative ideas on how to simplify or improve those processes, especially with technology or data-driven approaches.
• Charismatic and able to work directly in person with customers, decision-makers, and key stakeholders.
