Cashier

Summary:  

As employees/team members of Church on The Rock / Thrifters Rock, our primary role & privilege is to serve. We serve our customers, volunteers, staff, & the mission of Thrifters Rock/COTR (Church on The Rock) as a whole.  We accomplish this privilege of service in many ways.   

Included in this document are some of the unique responsibilities/expectations, qualifications, & opportunities associated with the position of Cashier

Qualifications, Key Attributes, and Education Requirements 

• Aligns with COTR/Thrifters Rock, policies, procedures, & values.   
• Teachability, Integrity, Initiative, Productivity, Coherency, Humility, Compatibility, Optimism & Resilience.
• Minimum age of 17

Preferred Skills:   

• Teamwork skills.    
• Basic mathematics, & basic computer functionality. 
• Able to interact and assist customers with questions pertaining, but not limited to: merchandise knowledge, payment processing, returns/refunds, and store policies. 

Role(s) and Responsibilities 

• Greet customers enthusiastically as they walk in and out of the store. 
• Price and put away items to sell in between helping customers.  Stay up to date on all pricing policies and regulations, ensure that items are up to standard, ARC and/or relocate items not adequate to sell. 
• Assist customers by processing payments and returns/refunds. 
• Work positively alongside other team members to ensure the maximum use of work is accomplished.  

• Clean and/or tidy up: workstations, store floor, bathrooms, dressing rooms, display cases, etc.  
• Open Store: Open the garage door, unlock front doors,and turn on the lights. 
• Close Store:   

• Tidy up behind the counter and put away any items left out. Prepare station for next day. 
• Dressing Room: Put closed signs on the door, open up all doors and check inside for loose hangers and clothing, put items neatly inside desk, and prepare station for the next day.
