CIRC – Resident Services Coordinator

The Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for promoting the well-being and enjoyment of our residents by providing information, resource connection, coordinating support, and partnering with community resources to help residents thrive.

LOCATION:

This role is based on South King County (Auburn and Federal Way) and Kenmore.

Our Resident Service Coordinators:

• With the goal of helping people maintain independence, self-sufficiency, and well-being, provide outreach, education, connection, and navigation of resources, and support community engagement for residents living independently in Senior or Family housing throughout the Puget Sound Region. This position is focusing on Independent Affordable Senior communities in South King and NE King County (Communities served could change at any time.)
• Create collaborative relationships with residents, community managers, and resource providers to support independent living.
• Develop and grow a network of contacts with service providers and agencies for resident referrals.
• Identify needs of and educate residents on available services, help them to navigate and assist in applying for resources.
• Work in conjunction with the community manager(s) to empower residents to age in place and remain as independent and self-reliant as possible.
• Maintain clearly designated schedule at assigned community(s), follow through on appointments, on-going paperwork, and coordination of services.
• Utilize agency database for timely tracking of Resident Engagements (i.e., progress notes, care plans, referrals made, follow-up dates).

What you need to succeed!

• An approachable friendly demeanor and a sensitivity to various interpersonal styles.
• Direct experience providing services to low-income households, seniors, and/or adults with disabilities, including the provision of information and referral services preferably in a housing setting.
• Direct experience in navigating local/county/state systems (DSHS, Medicare/Medicaid, mental health, etc.) and community resources with positive outcomes.
• Ability to de-escalate tense situations while supporting the humanity of individuals.
• Proven experience in service management including organizing, problem-solving and advocating.
• Ability to multitask, fulfill multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Comfort with working independently while a part of a larger team.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, TEAMS).
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, human services preferred, or a High School Diploma and 3-5 years of equivalent professional experience.
• Exceptional written, oral and presentation skills
• Ability to speak other languages in addition to English, lived experience navigating systems, and experience working with diverse populations is strongly preferred.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Valid Driver’s License, insurance, and reliable transportation.

There is possible exposure to residents who are ill, confused, irritable, and irrational.  There is commuting throughout the Puget Sound region which could incur long periods of time navigating traffic.
