About the job:
Background: Arizona Veterans Research and Education Foundation uniquely partners with the Phoenix Veterans Administration Health Services and is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to work on PTSD therapy research projects to improve healthcare delivery and health outcome for veterans. The Research Coordinator will provide coordination and administrative support for the AZ Veterans Research and Education Foundation and trials associated with Phoenix Veterans Administration Health Services, universities, pharmaceutical device companies, and Pharmaceutical Industry Clinical Trials. AZ Vet Research and Education Foundation and Principal Investigator supervise the research coordinator position. General duties include coordinating active and forthcoming study protocols, implementing study protocols, collecting and monitoring data, participant recruitment, and reporting compliance.
Position Description: The CRC will be responsible for managing and executing PTSD therapy related research under the supervision of project investigator. The CRC will oversee activities and details of assigned research projects and measure overall success. The CRC will work closely with PIs and Research Leadership to advance the objectives of the research PTSD Therapy initiative. Duties consist of administrative tasks, budget tracking and analysis, and project oversight and implementation.
Objectives of this role:
- Collects and analyzes data; provides detailed and summary information and recommendations for further actions based on the data interpretation
- Able to interpret test results and identify trends requiring further analysis
- Recruits, educates, and interacts with study participants including consenting, randomization, interviews, and conducting follow-up visits
- Collaborate with research team/partners, project sponsors, and key stakeholders though meetings, event attendance, and written/verbal communication
- Manages implementation, control and reporting on clinical tests
- Implements data collection and monitors protocols for complex clinical research studies
- Ensure adherence to regulatory protocols including compliance with all technical and participant safety regulations.
- Maintain research records and oversee project operations such as ordering supplies, maintaining inventories and service and usage logs.
- Administers or monitors test and measurements required by project design
- Assist PIs in creating, administering, recording, and analyzing quantitative, qualitative, and statistical data, and other assessments to track and evaluate
- Perform audits and oversight to ensure research staff adherence to approved protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Help with identifying and resolving problems.
- Participate in the presentation of reports, presentations, promotional materials, protocol development, and publications in peer reviewed journals
- The CRC may also perform other research tasks as defined in the VA R&D committee-approved protocol.
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior successful clinical research coordinator experience
- Master’s Degree or equivalent graduate degree in related field or combination of specialized experience and education
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficient verbal and writing skills.
- Past experience with project management and data collection software
- Able to generate analytical reports and interpreting data.
