About this Role

 

Revantage UK’s Portfolio Company Communications team was established in September 2021. Its purpose is to provide communications support to the wide range of portfolio companies and assets in Blackstone’s real estate portfolio.

We are looking for corporate communications professional to join this team. The successful candidate will be at the heart of a communications advisory function which works closely with Blackstone to ensure that portfolio companies are properly supported in their communications and external engagement.

Because the range of companies in the real estate portfolio are diverse – geographically and by sector – the work is fast-paced and stimulating. Some of the businesses are household names, while others you will not have heard of before, despite being amongst the most successful in their sector. This means the work is varied, ranging from supporting media relations and managing an issue or crisis, through to supporting on public affairs and campaign development. You will also get excellent exposure to a range of people, from fellow Revantage UK and Blackstone colleagues through to communications and executive teams at portfolio companies.

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Working with Portfolio Company Communications team to support all elements of external communications across the Blackstone Real Estate portfolio
  • Work with Blackstone to support the Portfolio Companies in their day-to-day activities, their response to issues/crises, and in establishing communications strategies
  • Coordinate with Blackstone and secure their consent on matters relating to external communications for the Portfolio Companies, including major announcements, transactions or other corporate milestones
  • Manage a high volume of media materials on behalf of Portfolio Companies, ensuring their quality, accuracy and managing approval with Blackstone
  • Put in place processes and systems which will allow the Portfolio Company Communications team to better support the Portfolio Companies and Blackstone (e.g. tracking media coverage, summarising, evaluating and reporting activity throughout the year)
  • Review and feed into communications plans that support business objectives of Portfolio Companies, including creating a corporate narrative and messaging pillars that are activated across internal and external communications
  • Manage the communication agency partner relationships
  • Support execution of executive media engagement programs and speaking engagements; review/draft and approval of supporting materials such as key message documents, Q&A, and other briefing materials
  • Support Revantage UK’s employee and external communications

Skills/Experience required

  • 2-4 years of corporate communications experience, preferably in an agency or in-house experience in the financial, private equity, or real estate sectors with exposure to a consultancy-style environment.
  • Interested in current affairs and a good understanding of the political/ economic/news landscape and issues related to the built environment.
  • Strong English writing skills and able to produce a range of high-quality communications materials, alongside a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and effectively prioritise tasks especially when under pressure
  • Proactive and able to use own initiative whilst also demonstrating good judgement and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Able to manage multiple stakeholders and handle a range of different and sometimes competing priorities.
  • Self-motivated and ability to use own initiative but also a strong team player
  • Able to build relationships and gain trust with customers and colleagues
  • Demonstrates integrity, empathy, discretion and professionalism
