Job Summary

The Customer Service Representative (Containerized Acceptance Rep) handles outside and in-house phone calls and provides acceptance approvals for bulk and containerized waste for incoming loads.

The position ensures that customers are highly satisfied with the service provided at the facility and ensures that facility permit requirements are met and remain compliant on a daily basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees and answers high volume of customer calls.  

Completes waste acceptance by truck in the plant, profile & analysis approval, advance sample profiling, review manifests/safety data sheets descriptions within permit criteria, waste codes, etc.  

Provides scheduling and contacts customers for incoming loads.  Assists the customer service representative with acceptability and rejections.  

Assists customer in re-manifests rejected drums to an alternate Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility.  

Works with accounting, researches any and all customer billing complaints, and generates credits as needed.  

Approves profiles & manifest entry when needed, typing and supplying facility with daily receiving & shipping schedule, and assisting department manager with miscellaneous duties.  

Ensures that facility permit requirements are met and remain compliant on a daily basis.  

Other Functions

Researches for manifest copies, invoice problems and electronically sends out brochures, pricing information, etc.  

Works on-call 24 hours/day, 7 days/week on a rotating 1st-on-call with other representatives schedule as needed.  

Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications Years of Experience

2Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.). 

2 years of experience in Environmental knowledge  Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology.  

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.  

Talking to others to convey information effectively.  

Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.  

The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).  

The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.  

Preferred Qualifications

Previous work experience in an environmental setting preferred.
