REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 3 years in Early Childhood Education (Preferred).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Preferred).
- Birth through Kindergarten licensure or certification (Preferred).
- Ability to implement developed curriculum to teachers, in collaboration with our onsite, Curriculum Coach (Required).
- Ability to fulfill all North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education (NCDCDEE) requirements to work in a licensed child care program (Required).
- Physical ability (able to exert up to 30 pounds of force) and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job (Required).
POSITION DETAILS
- Reports To: Spark Academy Director
- Position: Full-time | 12-months | Monday – Friday
SALARY
- Annual Salary – $36,000 – $39,000
*Based on education and experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement STREAMin3 Curriculum along with activities that support the whole child.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all children.
- Be positive, approachable, and professional in interactions with parents/guardians, staff, students, and community members.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all student information.
- Communicate effectively with families about their child’s development.
- Respect families’ beliefs and values.
- Willingness to attend professional development opportunities.
- Be open and flexible to all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Director and/or Assistant Director.
- Collaborate and work well with teachers, staff, and board members.
- Communicate with the Director ensuring all parties; students, caregivers/guardians, teachers have support where needed.

- Work collaboratively to create an environment that inspires young children to be curious and enhance their love of learning.
- Implement routines and activities that engage children and positively impact their overall development.
- Honor the individual skills, needs, and interests of each child to allow for successful growth through hands-on and play-based learning.
- Model positive emotional skills that help children be confident while navigating through everyday social-emotional occurrences and experiences.
- Gracefully demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, seamlessly blending warmth and nurturing care even during bustling activity.
- Believe all children have the potential to learn and thrive regardless of economic status.
- Believe they are part of a team willing to help each other when needs arise.
