Early Childhood Development Substitute

Spark Academy is an innovative, mixed-income early child care and learning program setting a high standard of excellence in the community; seeking qualified substitute teachers with high standards to fill in when needed. 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

• Works in the teacher role in the classroom in the teacher’s absence.
• Implements caregiving routines.
• Assists in food service including meal set-up and clean-up.
• Performs tasks that promote a clean, safe, fun, and orderly environment.
• Assists children with bathroom procedures. 
• Supervises children at all times according to federal, state, and local mandates.
• Physical ability (able to exert up to 30 pounds of force) and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.

POSITION DETAILS

• Reports To: Spark Academy Director
• Position: Substitute 
• Compensation: $13.00 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years or older 
• Ability to fulfill all North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education (NCDCDEE) requirements to work in a licensed child care program.
