If so, you may be our new Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships Officer!
Mission East is an international relief and development organization working in countries affected by crises in the former Soviet Union, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. You will be part of the Engagement Team composed of people working to raise income from private donors and foundations, provide supporter care and increase knowledge and awareness of Mission East’s work among the Danish public.
The Job
The main purpose of your role is to identify stories and create, develop, and implement initiatives which strengthen the public awareness and financial support of Mission East. You will develop relationships internally and externally; working on communications with our individual donors and on the full cycle of supporter activities including acquisition, retention and reactivation. You will develop business partnerships and collaborate with the Danish NGO community.
As Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships Officer, your tasks will be to:
- Develop and implement fundraising and supporter retention activities, including the production of campaigns, the development of Mission East’s membership program, communication with members through direct emails, newsletters, welcome and thank you letters, etc.
- Develop loyalty concepts for our supporters and explore the opportunities for business collaboration
- Execute and analyse campaigns, and ensure they are highlighted across external channels by working with your communication colleagues
- Develop strong relationships with your colleagues and our partners around the world and in headquarters, to support the ability to tell compelling stories about the work of Mission East
- Are responsible for our fundraising systems and make optimal use of them (we use Donorfy as CRM system, OnlineFundraising and MailChimp)
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns by using Power BI and other analytical tools, and maintain ongoing analysis of testing and results including gifts, click-through-rates, open-rates, etc.
- Support analysis of donor data and maximize growth
- Develop business partnership and collaboration strategy that is in line with Mission East’s values to generate financial resources and visibility
You will also:
- Contribute to the maintenance of the website, acting as back-up for website and donor relations/gift processing
- Participate in the update of the 2022-2025 Engagement Strategy.
- Contribute to the development and execution of fundraising events and other events organized by the Engagement Team
It is your responsibility to:
- Stay on top of trends and fundraising best practices and identify new audiences and strategies
- Contribute to ensuring good fundraising and communication practices, ethics; and comply with regulatory requirements, including GDPR and Mission East data protection and IT policies in all aspects of Mission East’s supporter-related activities.
- Represent Mission East at external meetings, develop external relationships which support organisational goals

You
We imagine that you have at least five years’ experience in fundraising from the NGO sector. Building purpose-driven relationships with individuals and private organisations is part of your DNA, and you thrive in an outreach role with a welcoming approach focusing on opportunities.
You have a natural ability to identify stories, tell them and create, develop, and implement campaigns and initiatives that move people into action.
We expect you to be:
- Result-driven with proved success in increasing the number of supporters and funding – you make things happen!
- Confident in using data and numbers to identify development opportunities with the ability to rapidly implement them
- Confident in using and optimizing fundraising system; knowledge of Donorfy is an advantage – not a requirement.
- Initiative taker, creative, imaginative, curious, resilient, determinate to pursue new opportunities even after experiencing challenges, and eager to learn
- Excellent proof-reader in Danish and English to reach your target groups
It is an advantage that you have a good understanding of our purpose, work and target groups with a real interest in sales, optimization and marketing.
We offer:
- Full-time employment with an open contract based at Mission East head office in Hellerup
- Salary in accordance with our salary policy and scale at level 16.2 with employer’s pension contribution of 11 % and health insurance.
- Annual leave in accordance with Danish law and 5 extra vacation days per year

- Flexible working hours with fixed hours from 10 to 15 and possibility of up to six home working days per month (Thursday and/or Friday).
