APM Steam is seeking skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as Field Technicians to service the east coast and Midwest. As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for conducting steam trap surveys and performing the necessary repairs. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical expertise and troubleshooting skills who enjoy working in a dynamic and hands-on environment.
- Conduct steam trap surveys at healthcare and industrial facilities, educational institutes, and manufacturing plants
- Inspect steam trap systems, identify malfunctioning or defective traps, and determine the appropriate repair or replacement actions
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot steam trap issues effectively
- Perform repairs and replacements of steam traps, ensuring proper functionality and efficiency of the systems
- Collaborate with clients to address their specific needs and provide recommendations for optimizing steam trap performance
- Document survey findings, repairs performed, and any recommendations for future maintenance or improvements
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment while working at job sites
Requirements:
- Proven experience in mechanical repair and troubleshooting, preferably with steam trap systems or in a related field Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in mechanical systems is a plus
- Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively to client facilities, including overnight stays when necessary (50%)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and daily access to a vehicle
