izba is seeking a Freight Lead to join a growing remote team of self-motivated individuals building, adapting, pivoting and
governing the supply chains of some of the best-known startups in the US. In this role you will primarily be overseeing,
managing, and developing our internal izba freight team while also managing/booking freight for our clients on a global scale
and will be responsible for score carding on a regular basis. This job will have varied experiences and responsibilities ranging
from supporting several clients to leading a team in a specific area to having end to end supply chain responsibilities across a
variety of industries, over time. This position will report to the Director of Consulting and may be a shared leadership role.
The ideal candidate has at least 5-8 years experience in the freight industry with several years of experience managing and
developing others. In addition, knowledge of the P&L and selling services to prospective clients would be a tremendous
asset. The Freight Lead knows how to stretch themselves without overcommitting and has excellent interpersonal skills.
This role is a good fit for you if you’ve demonstrated success in a traditional Fortune 500, freight forwarding or startup
environment and are eager to accelerate your learning and experiences. The salary range for this position is $85-$110k.

• At least 5 years of experience in the freight world.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team
• Provide guidance during critical freight issues
• Participate in business development and client onboarding activities
• Knowledge of domestic and international freight
• Knowledge of HTS codes, international tariffs and taxes and INCOterms
• Highly analytical (proficient in Excel and other analytical tools)
• Available to travel up to 15% of the time post COVID as dictated by client work.
• Available to work during standard US business hours (time zone influenced by client)
• Takes a proactive mindset to every situation- evaluates ways to make process more efficient
• Highly communicative to both vendors and customers. “The more informed, the better” attitude; Is not
afraid to question or challenge anything
Major Pluses:

• Direct experience working for a freight forwarder, broker, or transportation provider.
• Prior startup experience.
• Previous experience in project management.
• Knows parcel, domestic, and international freight booking process end to end
• BS in engineering, supply chain, operations science, or another relevant field.

• Fluent in a second language (Reading, Writing, Speaking)
• Experience handling multiple bids at a time
• Customer service oriented- Wants their customers to succeed; offers thoughtful responses and solutions
for issues where needed.
• Checks assumptions and is detail oriented.
