Moviestarplanet 2 is a social dress-up game with hundreds of thousands of fiercely loyal players who have played our games for many years. The MovieStarPlanet universe is especially loved by young women and girls and mainly played on mobile devices. Our core values are fun, creativity, friendship and safety – the overarching message being “be who you want to be”.  We are looking for an experienced and talented Game Designer to carry on the success of our game by developing new designs and ideas in close collaboration with our teams.

About the Job:

You will join our international team of game creators, where collaboration is at the heart of who we are.  Artists, programmers and people of all disciplines work together to create engaging and fun experiences for our users.  As the Game Designer you will work closely with our Art Director and Director of Product on shaping the creative direction of the game.  You will be expected to keep the big picture in mind, while adapting to the ever changing realities of a living and social game.  You will have a key influence on the direction of our game and our roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Develop new and innovative ideas and concepts
• Research and analyse user behaviour and trends, as well as competitor products
• Create visual, easy to understand designs
• Communicate your vision in a way that engages the entire team
• Work closely with our developers while they implement your designs
• Participate in insuring the quality of implementation via testing
• Monitor the performance of the game and your features
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders

About You:

You are a creative powerhouse and an excellent communicator.  You thrive in close collaboration with other disciplines and you have a keen interest in crafting engaging experiences for a young female audience. From building game concepts from the ground up to overseeing their journey through development and release, you are ready to adapt to new findings and input, while at the same time driving your overall creative vision.

You are self motivated and can take charge of your own day. You can tackle concept creation and design refinement, in collaboration with our Director of Product, all the while working closely together with our Director of Production in coordinating the development and ensuring that the final product is ready for launch.

You thrive on creative challenges, enjoy hosting brainstorming sessions with the team and aspire to create an exciting universe that appeals to young female audiences around the world. 

Requirements:

• 5 years or more of working professionally as a game designer
• A strong understanding of game mechanics, game design and community building
• A passion for understanding and developing for a young female audience
• Experience with the freemium business model and understanding game economies
• Ability to analyse designs from an entertainment, usability, and economic perspective
• Experience of working with a team where you had to maintain an overview and continuously coordinate with developers
• You are self directed and self motivated with a collaborative spirit
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Especially in English

These skills would also be a plus:

• Experience with mobile game development
• Experience using Figma or other design tools
• BA or higher degree in a relevant field of expertise

Work environment:

• Our offices are on Islands Brygge, and we work onsite all days except Wednesdays
• Our main communication language is English
