About the job:
Position summary
As Head of Partners Private you would be responsible for the execution of the distribution and growth strategy for the fastest growing business unit in the Partners Wealth Group family.
To ensure that our Wealth clients and Investors obtain the best in opportunities, client experience and investment returns this leader will need to combine their passion for being part of a fast growing and innovative business with the skill to coordinate Advisor, Head of Distribution and 3rd party channels, marketing and client experience.
In addition to this you will work closely with operations & investor relations to ensure investment execution is client centric and creates the highest level of investor advocacy.
New Business Growth & Development
· Manage the Head of Distribution for Partners Private (primarily Vic based) as well as 3rd party sub distributors.
· Introduce new investment opportunities to existing 3rd partner referrers and family offices and/or new 3rd partner referrers and family offices by identifying opportunities from your existing network or other identified sources from the PWG wider network.
· In collaboration with the National Advice Manager, Head of Distribution for Partners Private and the Director of Joint Ventures, manage the distribution across the PWG and Joint Venture Advisor networks.
· Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with business stakeholders including Investments, Operations, Marketing, Advice, Joint Ventures, Risk and Compliance.
· Building out and maintaining the Partners Private direct database.
· Voice of the client: ensure alignment of our investor needs with our investment pipeline.
· Provide guidance to our investment committee on where to direct investment, legal and operational resources.
· Assist in the development and drive execution of the longer-term distribution strategy.
· Forecast available funds by asset class & by channel (direct, advice, 3rd party).
· Assist to project manage closed ended investment opportunities with the investment, operations and client experience team (supported heavily by Investor Relations & Operational Managers).
Client Experience
· Ensure the Private team provide exceptional service that exceeds both Advisors, 3rd party distributors and investors’ expectations.
· Ensure the Private investment team meet KPIs & SLAs on reporting & data integrity for both Investors and Advisors.
· Work with the Marketing team to ensure client communications for new and existing investments are timely, relevant and purposeful.
· Ensure fund providers do not contact clients directly unless for essential compliance purposes.
Promote Team Culture & Innovation
· Support operations by identifying opportunities to add efficiency, and where required, actively support the work to define and scope new processes or systems.
· Maintain a timeline of key milestones for each fund, ensuring front and back-office teams have full visibility of each stage, date and required action.
· Be an active conduit between the Advice Team, Operations, Marketing and the Investment Team, ensuring that the ‘voice of the client’ remains central to all activity.
· Build and maintain cohesion between cross functional teams that’s creates accountability and responsibility.

Education requirements
- Degree Qualified
- Additional Investment qualifications preferred
Experience & Skills required
General Management experience with experience coordinating cross functional teams
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial services industry- predominantly in business development/distribution or funds management.
- Possess strong knowledge of unlisted investments and private wealth management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Worked in a results driven team
- Experience with funds management software and the technology landscape
- Management of deal origination (supporting our Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer), investment team and client deal alignment, Advice and 3rd party book build.
- Coordination of distribution and business development while aligning this into investor relations and client experience.
Wealth or Funds Management background preferable
- Unlisted investment exposure and experience preferred
- Deep networks with ability to leverage these for new deal origination or distribution / new clients
People management and soft skills
- Presentation skills and confident talking in front of large audiences (seminars)
- Influencing & sales
- Prioritising and time management skills for you and your team and strong ability to work to deadlines

- Director level- external Product providers
- UHNW / family offices/ 3rd party referral partners
- Joint Venture Partners
Financial management & Strategy
- Oversee the Partners Private Profit and Loss (with support from the Finance team)
- Help design and be responsible in executing the Partners Private 1, 3 & 5 year plans (with support from the Executive Director team)
Systems/technology & client experience
- Change management, best practice regarding client experience and implementation of efficient technology and systems
Not in scope:
- Investment research and due diligence
- Individual investor relations with individual clients (only Family offices and 3rd party B2B referral partners)
