Our ideal candidate is an emerging professional eager to begin a career in instructional design. We are looking for a big-picture thinker with meticulous attention to detail, who is passionate about creating unique, interactive, and memorable learning experiences for adult learners. A particular interest in data analysis and statistics is a plus, and the candidate should be open to upskill in this area.
This is an entry-level role, so prior experience as an instructional designer is not required. However, the ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong interest in instructional design and familiarity with related tools and adult learning methodologies. A willingness to stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in continuing education is essential. An interest in working on educational projects in the medical field is also a plus.
The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment where honesty and constructive feedback are encouraged and appreciated. Job Duties
The Junior Instructional Designer will assist the instructional design team with a variety of job duties. With the mentorship and support of the Director of Learning Solutions and the ID team, the Junior ID will need to:
· Conduct research
· Draft learning objectives and course content, ensuring course content aligns with those objectives
· Create course outlines, scripts, and storyboards
· Develop courses using different platforms, including the Articulate 360 suite
· Contribute to internal training initiatives
· Submit assigned deliverables to manager in a timely manner
· May also be responsible for:
o Creating worksheets, animated videos, and illustrations
o Implementing courses into an LMS or website
o Compiling and analyzing course data and analytics
o Performing other duties as assigned
Desired Skills
- Research and Writing: Experience in conducting research, along with writing and editing skills.
- Data and Analysis: Interest or foundational knowledge in statistics and data analysis.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with instructional design tools and platforms like Articulate 360, Vyond, and learning management systems, as well as knowledge of WCAG accessibility guidelines.
- Graphic Design: Basic graphic design skills for creating visually appealing course materials.
Growth Plan
The Junior ID will get to shadow and learn from the instructional design team to prepare to take on key instructional designer responsibilities including:
· Meeting Facilitation: Leading meetings with clients and SMEs, conducting research, and collaborating with SMEs.
· Project Leadership: Writing learning objectives, creating course outlines, scripts, and storyboards, and developing courses using platforms like Articulate 360.
· Project Management: Creating timelines, submitting deliverables, and coordinating with third-party contractors.
· Additional Tasks: Creating worksheets, animated videos, implementing courses into LMS, executing webinars, and evaluating course analytics.

· Availability: Available and working during Central Time business hours
o Monday -Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm CT
o Friday: 9:00am-12:00pm CT
Position Requirements
· Education: Bachelor’s Degree required
· Experience: Demonstrated interest in and familiarity with instructional design methodologies and tools. Background in education-related field desired but not required.

o Salary Range: $48,000 – $54,000 (commiserate with experience)
