Position Title: Algebra Test Prep Coach

Reports To: Academy Director

Location: Lee County Acceleration Academy 

Compensation: $30-$40 an hour 

Employment Type: Part-Time 4-6 hours a week via Zoom, at-will

Grades 6-12 Math credential in the state of Florida Required!

Job Description 

We are seeking a skilled Part-Time Algebra Test Prep Coach to provide virtual support to our Graduation Candidates (GCs) in preparing students for the Algebra End-of-Course (EOC) exam as well as the ACT, SAT, and CLT math sections. This role requires 4-6 hours per week, with sessions scheduled after regular school hours. Ideal candidates are current high school Algebra teachers in Florida who have expertise in exam content and effective test preparation strategies.

Job Requirements 

Education:  Bachelor’s degree or higher 

Years of Experience: 4+ years of relevant experience 

Background Check: Demonstration of a clear state and federal criminal history

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Conduct weekly virtual test prep sessions focused on Algebra EOC, ACT, SAT, and CLT exams.
• Provide targeted instruction to strengthen students’ algebraic and problem-solving skills.
• Work collaboratively with Grade Coaches to assess student progress and adapt teaching methods as needed.
• Share proven test-taking strategies, practice exercises, and materials that align with standardized testing requirements.

Qualifications:

• License/Certification: Grades 6-12 Math credential in the state of Florida Required
• Strong understanding of the Algebra EOC, ACT, SAT, and CLT exam formats and subject matter.
• Demonstrated success in preparing students for standardized math exams.
• Excellent communication and instructional skills for effective virtual teaching.

Additional Qualifications 

• Bilingual (Spanish preferred) 
• Experience in a non-traditional school setting or education-related field
• Demonstrates a commitment and passion for supporting students, who have disengaged from a traditional school setting, by creating opportunities for academic and personal breakthroughs 
• Strong understanding of and comfort with the use of technology in an educational setting
