About the job:
DESCRIPTION
- To perform Radiographic X-Rays and assists Radiologist with Fluoroscopy and other special procedures as required.
- Maintain and cares for equipment and supplies used in each specialty area of the department.
- Maintains X-Ray equipment to include periodic cleaning and general Preventative maintenance schedules.
- Uses the c-arm and portable equipment in a safe, effective manner, without supervision, and without doing harm to the patient.
- Employee demonstrates knowledge and responsibility for the effective and safe use of all equipment in his/her activities.
- Demonstrates a consistent level of performance, strives to maintain a steady level of productivity.
- The flexibility to be cross-trained into other areas such as ultrasound, CT and take call and work over time as needed. Work the shift that is assigned.
- Employee participates in education and training to improve their knowledge and skills related to the Patient population served.
- Will follow the ALARA rule in all areas of Radiology.
- Will be familiar with all preps done.
- Demonstrates proper response and reliability for on call coverage.
- Transport Patients, performs film library and clerical duties as needed.
- Is knowledgeable in the practice of sterile technique so as to prevent contamination.
- Identifies each patient, reviews each patients requisition for consistency of exam ordered with clinical diagnosis and demographic information.
- Records pertinent patient information on all request.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Current license in the State of Georgia as a Radiology Technologist by the ARRT or registry eligible.
- Ability and willingness to cross-train into various Radiology related modalities.
- Certified by the ARRT in Radiolog
- Employee must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. And over with the help of co-workers. Will be required to help patients both on and off exam table.
- Twisting, bending, pushing, stretching and pulling are all frequently done during an 8 hour work day. Employee required to stand for prolonged periods of time.
