Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Registered Nurse Birth Assistant to join our team on a PRN basis. This role is integral to providing high-quality care and support during the childbirth process. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, knowledgeable, and dedicated to enriching the birthing experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• On Call/PRN Birth Assistant
• Provide support to families during pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum periods
• Monitor the health of the mother and baby during labor and postpartum periods
• Assist with lactation and newborn care
• Provide education and support to expecting mothers and their families
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the highest standard of care
• Participate in patient care planning and implementation
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
• Postpartum home visits with maternal and newborn assessments
• Practice universal precautions with PPE for infectious disease and blood borne pathogens

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of North Carolina
• Certifications in AHA BLS, NRP
• Experience in labor and delivery, neonatal intensive care, postpartum care, lactation or a related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in emergency situations and provide appropriate and responsive first line care
• Assist in communicating with hospital and other providers to access appropriate levels of care to assist with smooth transition from birth center to hospital
• Commitment to patient-centered care and a holistic approach to health and wellness
