Senior Backend Engineer (JAVA +AWS)

The Role:

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who will be part of this amazing and fast – growing fintech and the team responsible for software and tools to support and implement  PayClip’s core money-out processing infrastructure. S/He will develop and experiment programs with different technologies.

This person will be willing to experiment with new technologies to reach Clip customers, the role includes in the scope becoming the experts on content usage and customer insights. S/he should thrive in a culture of decisions based on analytics, be able to step-back and communicate both the strategic and immediate implications on priorities. This candidate must have strong written and verbal communications skills in both English and Spanish and be willing to continue learning and loving technology.

What will I do?

1. Design, develop, and experiment with software programs using a diverse range of technologies.
2. Innovate and explore new technologies to connect with Clip customers effectively.
3. Cultivate expertise in content usage and customer insights, shaping our strategy.
4. Utilize Java 8+ / GO, AWS, Testing, Maven, Design Patterns, Databases (relational, key-value, document), and Agile Methodology to drive project success. Optional: unit & functional testing, Monitoring & Metrics
5. Thrive in a data-driven culture, making strategic and immediate decisions based on analytics.
6. Communicate effectively, providing insights into strategic priorities.

Ideal Candidate:

• Senior in Java/GO development, Agile development, design patterns, testing, and other software engineering principles and processes.
• Solid understanding of internet and IP communications protocols and formats such as TCP/IP, HTTP, JSON, etc.
• Senior in Linux/Unix and comfortable with Mac.
• Knowledge of AWS/Cloud and Docker.
• Solid understanding of RESTful service architecture and API.
