The role

We are looking for a Senior Credit Controller to join our Finance team on an initial 18 month Fixed Term Contract. As a senior credit controller, you will be responsible for the management of cash collection across the group. Using your expert knowledge of our products and services and your natural tenacity, you will resolve payment and invoice queries to expedite settlement of debts. You will:

• Tactically monitor and collect payments by contacting members on a daily basis via phone and email
• Build and maintain good working relationships with both internal colleagues and our customers 
• Timely and effective collection of member’s debts
• Resolve financial queries as they arise
• Process credit card payments
• Keep excellent customer records electronically
• Respond to finance enquiries in Zendesk and other systems in a timely and professional manner
• Reconcile daily receipts to accounting systems
• Manage daily cheque reconciliation
• Keep members accounts up to date, reconciled and accurate
• Support colleagues with their ledgers during peak period or absence
• Continuously look for ways to improve processes
• Support relevant systems implementations

The ideal person

• Considerable credit control experience (with a focus on outbound calls of at least 50 calls a day)
• Excellent verbal communication skills 
• Persuasive, tenacious style
• Excel skills – formulas, vlookups & pivot tables
• Self starter, happy to work independently

Nice to Have:

• Experience in a subscription business
• Interest / experience in the education sector or public sector
• Previous knowledge of Zuora, Chargebee or a similar system 
• Experience using Google Workplace
• CCIM or equivalent
