Position Summary 

The Senior Project Manager/Estimator – Industrial Electrical is responsible for overseeing and managing large-scale electrical projects in industrial settings. This includes planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. The Senior Project Manager will lead a team of professionals, manage resources, and coordinate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery. 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Project Planning & Development: 
    Lead electrical projects from concept to completion. Develop detailed plans, including scope, schedule, and budget. Collaborate with engineering teams on designs and manage risks and contingencies.
  • Budget & Financial Management: 
    Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial controls. Handle purchase orders, contracts, and invoice approvals.
  • Project Execution & Coordination: 
    Oversee daily operations, lead project teams, and ensure work meets standards. Coordinate with stakeholders and ensure compliance with safety and industry regulations.
  • Client Management: 
    Serve as the main client contact, providing updates and managing project scope changes. Address client concerns and maintain strong relationships.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: 
    Mentor and motivate team members, providing training and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Quality & Safety Management: 
    Ensure installations meet quality standards and codes. Conduct site inspections for safety compliance and address any concerns.
  • Reporting & Documentation: 
    Prepare reports for management, maintain project documentation, and ensure thorough project closeout, including final inspections and client handover.
  • Estimating: 
    Review and evaluate project plans and specifications, bid documents, as well as other relevant project documents to identify what is needed for a project and to create a bid proposal. Perform and input accurate take-offs. Coordinate with vendors, equipment suppliers, and customers. Prepare bid documents including specific scope letter for each project 
  • Team Building & Leadership:
    • Mentor and guide project teams, promoting a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
    • Foster strong working relationships among team members, encouraging open communication and problem-solving. 
    • Assist in recruiting, training, and developing team members, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and resources to succeed. 
    • Support a positive work environment that emphasizes team unity, performance excellence, and individual growth. 
  • Business Development: 
    • Collaborate with the business development Charlotte team to identify potential new business/industry opportunities, including building relationships with new clients and exploring growth areas within current projects. 
    • Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and bids to secure new contracts. 
    • Participate in client meetings and networking events to expand the company’s market presence and reputation. 
    • Identify and develop strategies to participate and support Business Development in client satisfacation and maintain long-term business relationships. 
    • Analyze and share market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to inform strategic business decisions.

Requirements 

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electricxal engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 
    • Certifications: PMP certification preferred, relevant electrical certifications or licenses are a plus. 
    • Experience: 7-10 years of proejct management experience in the industrial electrical sector. 
    • Proven Expertise: Successfull track record managing large-scale electrical projects. 
    • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, equipment, and safety standards. 

     

    Physical Demands and Requirements 

    • Ability to work on-site at industrial facilities, including standing, walking, and climbing ladders. 
    • Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed. 
    • Primarily office-based with frequent visits to industrial sites. 
    • Flexibility to work outside normal hours to meet project deadlines.
