About the job:
Job Summary (Purpose):
Work under a coordinated training program in the Service Department under the supervision of a qualified Service Technician in the installation of Propane related products including setting tanks, installing propane appliances, maintenance of PPF&I and customer equipment.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
- Requires mechanical ability and aptitude for the installation and testing of equipment and appliances to include piping, light electrical and plumbing, testing.
- Ability to follow installation instructions and report to a qualified Service Technician.
- Demonstrates high level of Safety Awareness and consistently promotes Safety preventative strategies by promoting a cultivated safety environment.
- Demonstrates an aptitude of understanding the use of propane equipment in many different applications.
- Competent in systems and record keeping abilities – both systematically and manually
- Obtains an analytical mind set with proficient mathematical skills
- Dependable and reliable.
- Ability to professionally communicate with Supervisor and Customers.
- Analyze data from testing instrumentation.
- Protect company resources by safeguarding and making recommendations for efficiency
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install Propane equipment and appliances under the guidance of a qualified Service Technician.
- Evaluate internal documentation such as work orders, identifying parts needed on work order and administratively close work orders.
- Ability to use various tools in the installation and testing of equipment.
- Consistently report to Supervisor on progress on service assignments.
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs.
- Responsible For and Professionally Manages all hourly inventory control coordinators/warehouse teammates when applicable.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Exhibited aptitude by participation in a related technical education program. Proven experience in inventory management, procurement, and leadership
- Proficient knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical and plumbing basics.
- Reliable, Trustworthy, Analytical mindset with strong math skills
- Organizational and planning skills as well as outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Working conditions:
- Must be able to work as needed in customer location and warehouse environments as well as indoors and outdoors at various times.
- Consistent communications with Service Tech Supervisor.
- Must be able to Lift up to 70lbs, stand for long periods of time, and handle multiple tasks accordingly.
