With an exciting project in the pipeline in South Canterbury, we are looking for an experienced Site Manager with a strong services background either based in Timaru or willing to travel Mon-Fri.

About the role:

Reporting to the Project Manager on a day-to-day basis, you will be largely responsible for effectively managing the services of the project through to completion.   These services will including steam, condensate, hot & cold water, drainage, data and active & passive fire. In addition, you will:

• Feed project progress to your PM including programme, site control, H&S & QA.
• Maintain project documentation & support with variations
• Ensure construction works are within programme
• Proactively manage the site including multiple trades & sub-contractors
• Ensure trades work to completion of works by due dates & contract obligations
• Ensure quality is maintained, inspection of works & rectification work managed
• Oversee sub-contractor inductions & all H&S site practices maintained

About you:

You will be a hands-on Site Manager that can think on their feet and collaboratively problem solve.  You will have the ability to drive the construction programme whilst following best practices. In addition to this, you will have the following attributes:

• Experience in a similar role managing services on a commercial construction site
• The ability to manage multiple trades & sub-trades
• Confidence in speaking up and ask questions if things don’t look right
• A strong knowledge of different construction methodologies & types of builds
• A pro-active approach to H&S and quality management
• Ideally exposure to Procore or Construction Management Software + MS Office suite
• A positive, conscientious work ethic, you must be self-motivated
• Open to travelling Mon-Fri if required
