LIFELENZ is an automated workforce and human capital management platform solving challenges related to onboarding, sales & labour forecasting, scheduling & time clock/keeping, insights & reporting and labour law compliance. It uses machine learning to automatically self-tune and self-manage models to a particular store with hyper-local attributes. The technology approach and analytic methodologies used enable the distribution across large-scale centralized ownership and highly fragmented franchised ownership companies.
Who are we seeking:
LIFELENZ is expanding its engineering team in Adelaide, and we are seeking a Software Engineer, Compliance to support our rapidly expanding global customer base.
LIFELENZ Software Engineers have a passion for solving problems, providing workable solutions, and developing deep knowledge of algorithms and data structures. The role requires individuals who possess strong analytical and reasoning skills with an ability to visualise processes and outcomes, and demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting software issues and debugging large codebases. The role also requires outstanding all-round communication skills and ability to work effectively both collaboratively in a team, and autonomously, as required.
What you can expect:
- On a daily basis, actively participate in a fast-paced software development process as part of an agile product engineering team, writing and reviewing code primarily in Java / Java Spring and Drools and/or Ruby / Ruby on Rails, ensuring own code is clean, readable, performant and testable.
- Develop and maintain a combination of microservices & monolithic backend structures to specifications, with a constant stream of new features in the pipeline.
- Develop and maintain a rules and compliance engine to specifications, with a constant stream of new features in the pipeline.
- Where assigned, perform the feature lead role by managing end-to-end feature delivery, feature team communications, requirements clarifications and resolution and/or escalation of blockers and dependencies to ensure efficient delivery of the defined product feature to market within committed timeframes.
- Work with the support of the team lead, backend team and fellow software engineers working on allocated feature(s) to interpret requirements, confirm specifications, and develop appropriate production-grade implementations that operate at scale for a global user base.
- Interact with UX / UI designers, business analysts, architects, platform (DevOps) & security specialists and test analysts for the product to clarify requirements, understand scope changes that arise from time to time, and resolve bugs.
What you bring:
- 3+ years working in a software product-based organisation / environment as a Java developer with accountability for end-to-end delivery.
- Proficient in writing highly performant code in modern Java.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain REST endpoints using Java Spring.
- Ability to interact with a DB (preferably PostgreSQL) through Java.
- Being diligent with code quality using various unit testing and performance testing frameworks
- Demonstrated experience working in an Agile development environment, familiarity with methodologies such as Scrum, test driven development etc.
- Ability to track down, debug and resolve software issues.
- Familiar with Linux environments.
- Knowledge and experience with the software development lifecycle and supporting toolsets.
Even better if you have…
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems and/or equivalent work experience.
- Java related certifications are a bonus.
- Experience in using Drools to create / maintain business rule sets.
- Development experience in Ruby on Rails, GraphQL.
- Experience in working with microservices architectures.
- Experience building large scale global architectures.
