Under this position you are responsible for calculating the costs associated with the installation work of a particular ELV and Audio Visual (AV) related project before work commences, covering everything from materials, labour, equipment hires, transport costs & etc. You should have the ability to design and understand the solutions required for different ELV and AV applications in order to undertake this position including CCTV, Public Address, Professional Audio and Video, Access Control, Network and Fiber Cabling, Data, WiFi, IP Telephone, Video & Audio Conferencing, Home Automation and other related ELV applications.
Key Responsibiities:
- Calculate the proposed project cost, including installation work (wiring charges, labor, transport, risk factors, etc.).
- Visiting project locations and attending pre-bid site visits on time to gather necessary information for installation estimates.
- Researching prices and collecting quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitoring inflation and exchange rates, considering their impact on long-term projects.
- Reviewing client requirements and having the ability to explain solutions to clients during site visits.
- Assisting installation teams during the installation stage by providing accurate wiring details.
- Monitoring projects to ensure costs remain in line with forecasts.
- Preparing detailed and accurate price lists for all materials required for a construction project.
- Considering risk assessments and adhering to health and safety requirements.
Essential Skills:
- A qualification in a related field of Electronics or Electrical Engineering, including NCT / NDT / HND or an equivalent NVQ level.
- Proven experience in a presales or technical support role, experience in ELV and AV systems is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of ELV and AV systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and site assessments.
- Must have a valid riding license.
- Owning a motorbike is an added advantage.
