Job Description Overview: The Adjunct Industrial Blueprint Drawing Instructor will be responsible for providing high- quality instruction over industrial blueprint drawings and readings. The Instructor will focus their instruction over industrial control prints, blueprint reading and understanding, layout blueprint, drawing and schematics. They must report and maintain documentation of students progress, attendance, and performance. Perform other duties that are assigned. The Instructor may be required to work with industry to create a customized curriculum that fits their needs and schedule. Develop lesson plans and create activities that focus on industrial blueprint and schematics. The instructor must have a strong background working in the industrial maintenance industry. They must have a strong passion for teaching, supporting, and preparing students to reach their educational goals.

  • Provides an engaging, supportive, and positive learning environment.
  • Clearly establishes expectations for learning and achievement.
  • Communicates well with students and staff.
  • Make sure safety measures are always used and the learning environment is safe for all students and staff.
  • Performs other duties that are assigned.
  • Educate students on identifying common symbols used in mechanical schematic diagrams.
  • Educate students on being able to read drawings in pneumatic, piping, fluid, and electrical.
  • Teach students how to use diagrams to perform troubleshooting activities on different types of industrial equipment and make calculations.
  • Educate students on identifying and using CAD software, computer hardware, and operating software to produce AutoCad drawings.
  • Educate students on how to store and retrieve predefined components
  • Instruct students on how to add dimensions and text to drawings.
  • Educate students on how to add dimensions and text to blueprints for machine drawings.
  • Stay up to date with industry advancements and standards in industrial maintenance technology.
  • Educate students on identifying material lists, selecting the correct materials, and laying out materials.
  • Educate students on gap identification and the requirements for welding.
  • Plan, develop, teach, and facilitate classes that involve theoretical and hands-on learning where students can gain the knowledge that is needed.
  • Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, maintain student progress, performance and records.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support program goals and student success.
  • Keep track of students attendance, participation, progress and grades.
  • Able to develop daily lesson plans and design learning activities.
  • Must be able to set up lab equipment for each class and oversee the labs when they are being used by students.
  • May be required to work with industry to create a customized curriculum that fits their needs and schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Mastery of skill in industrial control prints, blueprints and schematics.
  • Patient, flexible, positive, consistent, cooperative, and dependable.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Must be able to work evenings if needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Previous teaching or training experience in a technical field.

 

Physical Requirements:

in the use of industrial maintenance equipment and tools.

  • To be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • To be able to lift moderate weights of materials, equipment, and supplies.
