Volleyball Coach

Position Overview:

Les Coyotes de La Cité is seeking a passionate and dedicated Men’s Assistant Volleyball Coach to join our athletic department. Reporting to the Head Coach, the ideal candidate will assist in coaching, training, and mentoring the men’s volleyball team, ensuring that athletes achieve both individual and team success. This position requires strong communication, leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive, competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach in the development and execution of practice plans, game strategies and team training.
• Work with athletes to improve their skills in all aspects of volleyball (technical, tactical, physical, and mental).
• Provide feedback and coaching during practices, games, and tournaments.
• Monitor and assess athletes’ performance and progress.
• Help with recruiting prospective student-athletes.
• Collaborate with other coaching staff and athletic department to ensure smooth operations.
• Support the academic and personal development of student-athletes, ensuring adherence to team and academic policies.
• Assist in game day preparation, including warm-ups, lineups, and other logistical needs.
• Participate in team travel and support the team during away games.
• Maintain professional relationships with athletes, parents, and staff.

Qualifications:

• Previous playing and/or coaching experience in volleyball at the collegiate or competitive club level.
• Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategies, and techniques.
• NCCP certified Development Coach or working towards the certification
• CPR/First Aid certification
• A valid level 3 vulnerable sector check is required before confirmation of the successful candidate
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• A commitment to upholding the values of sportsmanship, respect, and academic excellence.
• Ability to travel for away games and team events.
• Experience with recruitment, if applicable, is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level
• Knowledge of OCAA or relevant league regulations
• Ability to speak, write and understand French
