Senior Structural Engineer:
Position Overview
Reporting to the Associate Director of Engineering, the Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for various aspects of engineering projects related to expanding, modifying, or constructing new facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Develop capital authorization applications
- Select materials, equipment, and services
- Manage construction and equipment installation
- Oversee project budget and schedule
- Perform jobsite inspections to ensure design compliance
- Provide engineering guidance to staff engineers, technicians, and others
Specific Duties
- Develop designs, specifications, and cost estimates for civil/structural projects in manufacturing facilities across the US, Canada, and Mexico
- Design facility and heavy industrial equipment foundations
- Provide project and onsite construction management
- Ensure project requirements are met
Required Skills and Knowledge
- In-depth working knowledge of current industrial facility construction practices
- Comprehensive technical understanding of structural analysis/design in steel, concrete, and wood
- Highly skilled in technical written communications and oral presentations
- Strong customer interaction abilities
- Excellent teamwork and leadership skills

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- PE license
- Project/Construction Management experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
Physical Requirements
- Must be physically active
- Able to work in confined spaces
- Willing to work in a dirty, hot, and very humid environment (Paper Mill)
- Able to climb ladders and comfortable with heights
Compensation
The salary range for this position will be based on the candidate’s experience.
