Pay Rate: Starting at $15.00 per hour
Hours: Monday through Thursday 4pm-7:45pm, and Saturday and Sunday 8am -11:45am

JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Aquatics Supervisor, responsible for creating a safe, fun and educational environment for all participants enrolled in the swim lesson program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Familiarity with all basic swimming strokes and water safety skills.
- Follow Starfish Aquatics Institute standards and guidelines for each level of lessons.
- Enthusiastic and energetic attitude about swimming and swim instruction.
- Communicate with the parents the goals and objectives of the program; be available for any questions or concerns.
- Attend bi-weekly in-service trainings to maintain and improve upon skills and techniques.
- Ability to instruct participants of all ages and levels of swimming ability.
- Ability to correct various stroke techniques of individual participants.
- Flexibility to fill in and teach any level of class if necessary.
- Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
- Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Flexibility and communication skills
- Must be at least 15 years of age or older
- Responsive to parent and participant’s needs.
- Ability to work cooperatively in teams and with others.
- Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
- Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferred previous knowledge of how to swim and how to do the 4 basic strokes.
